It has become increasingly more difficult to obtain
an accurate count on new pups born each year. As packs increase in
size, in number, and occupy more remote areas of the ecosystem. Here
is what we have to date.
Druid Peak Pack-
The pack has split
into 4 groups, which are starting to behave like separate packs. No.
42F and 21M have denned as has 106F's group.5
pups seen at the traditional den site with 21M and 42F.
A second den site
south of the confluence with 3 pups observed, no idea yet on parents.
6 pups observed with 106. 4 pups with 103.
The main pack currently consists of 10 adult wolves and 3 surviving
pups from the 2 litters born this past spring. As many as 8 pups had
been observed earlier this year, but the past few weeks observers
have only seen 3 pups.
Alpha's #21M and 42F. No. 21M was born on Mount Maurice in 1995, the
son of 9F and 10M of the Rose Creek Pack. He is now 7 1/2 years old.
42F was born in British Columbia in 1995 or 1994, so she is 7 1/2
to 8 1/2 years old.
