Directions to Canyon Visitor Center

I Meet guests for the summer Bear Viewing Tours, as well as some hiking tours at Canyon Visitor Center which is located at Canyon Village.

To access Canyon Village drive to the 4-way stop at Canyon. There will be a gas station right on the corner. Drive past the gas station keeping it on your left.

Take the first right and enter Canyon Village. The large Canyon Visitor Center will be right in front of you.

The Canyon Visitor Center is brand new, opened summer of 2007 after a 2 year rebuilding project.

For early morning tours, I like to park right in front and I am generally early. I drive a blue Chevy Astro Van with BEARMAN on the license plate (number plate for my UK guests).

In summer when we meet in the afternoons the parking spaces right in front are usually full, so I end up parking in the next lot, but still in front. I usually like to stand around in the afternoons just in front, and to the right of the Visitor Center (far right side of picture above), and just outside the bathrooms, which are open 24 hours per day. For those of you with GPS units the coordinates are:

N 44° 44.084'
W 110° 29.474'

Canyon Village has quite a bit to offer besides the Visitor Center. There is a small grocery store located in the large gift shop building, several restaurants and grills, a post office and the Canyon Lodge which is located directly across the large parking area from the Visitor Center.
